The TOOL-FLO TBNR1000PZS26D is a solid carbide, ball nose milling insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in milling applications. It carries a ZS26D manufacturer grade with an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process, delivering thermal resistance and extended tool life in demanding cuts. The insert measures 1 inch wide and 0.236 inches thick, features a 0.5-inch corner radius, and is ground with a honed cutting edge and a positive rake angle of 5 degrees. Two cutting edges are available on this single-sided, right-hand insert. It is sized to the TBNR-1000 insert code per ANSI standards and is held in place by a screw-clamp method. Installation and selection are typically handled by machinists and tooling specialists in CNC or manual milling environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN PVD coating make it a practical choice for high-speed finishing and semi-finishing passes where surface quality and edge retention matter. It is rated for use on hard materials as well as standard ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces, covering ANSI material application codes P, M, H, and N. Compatible cutter series include TBNS-WT, TBNC-WT, TBNS-WS, and TBNC-WS, as specified by TOOL-FLO. The P chip breaker geometry and positive rake promote efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup in the cut zone.
Designed for use with TOOL-FLO cutter series TBNS-WT, TBNC-WT, TBNS-WS, and TBNC-WS. ANSI code TBNR-1000-P-ZS26D. Catalog number TBNR-1000-P-ZS26D.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the screw clamp - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout. Always verify insert orientation matches the right-hand designation before resuming cutting operations.
