The TOOL-FLO R0806200N4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the TNMA32 insert style with a GP50 grade designation, this insert features a TiN coating applied via PVD process, delivering improved surface hardness and wear resistance for grooving steel workpieces. The cutting width measures 0.062 inches, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.150 inches. The positive rake geometry at 2 degrees reduces cutting forces and supports clean chip evacuation. This is a right-hand insert oriented for standard On-Edge series toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators in production turning environments are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for grooving and parting applications on steel and similar materials in both light and moderate production turning setups. The On-Edge series orientation positions the insert for improved rigidity at the cutting edge, making it appropriate for tight-tolerance groove profiles where consistent width control is critical. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches with an overall width of 0.127 inches, fitting toolholders designed for 3/8 inch gage diameter On-Edge insert pockets. Primary and secondary workpiece materials are steel, and the C5 and C6 material grade classifications indicate suitability for a range of ferrous turning applications.
Designed for use in On-Edge series grooving toolholders accepting TNMA32 style inserts with a 3/8 inch gage diameter pocket. Compatible with ISO code TNMA 32 NGR W.062 insert seat specifications. Intended for grooving steel workpieces classified under material grades C5 and C6.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully stopped and in an energy-isolated state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket and torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination will affect edge geometry and groove accuracy. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for this insert grade.
