The TOOL-FLO 9HSD2 is a T20 Torx clamping screw designed to secure indexable inserts in grooving and threading toolholders. It features a flat head profile, a 10-32 inch thread, and an overall length of 0.75 inches. Machined to OEM tolerances, this screw maintains precise insert seating under cutting loads, reducing the risk of insert movement or chatter during grooving and threading operations. It is sold individually and is the correct hardware replacement when a clamping screw is damaged, lost, or worn during routine insert changes.
This screw is intended for use in metalworking and machining environments where indexable toolholders are used for grooving and threading applications. It is compatible with a range of TOOL-FLO SI-series and STCNR-series toolholders and is designed to clamp triangular indexable inserts from the TNMA and TNMC series, among others. Typical users include CNC machinists, tool crib technicians, and shop floor personnel responsible for maintaining toolholder assemblies on turning centers and lathes.
Compatible toolholders include SI-STHOL-204, SI-STHOL-244, SI-STHOL-32M4, SI-STHOL-40M4, SI-STHOR-204, SI-STHOR-244, SI-STHOR-32M4, SI-STHOR-40M4, STCNR-165, STCNR-205, and STCNR-206. Compatible inserts include TNMA 43 NG W.187, TNMA 43 NGC W.062, TNMA 43 NGC W.094, TNMA 43 NGC W.125, TNMA 43 NGC W.156, TNMC 43 NT 10P, TNMC 43 NT 12P, TNMC 43 NT 14P, TNMC 43 NT 16P, TNMC 43 NT 4P, TNMC 43 NT 5P, TNMC 43 NT 6P, TNMC 43 NT 8P, TPMC 43 NT 4P, and TPMC 43 NT 5P.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool crib technicians during routine insert indexing or replacement. The toolholder should be removed from the machine spindle and the machine powered down before servicing clamping hardware. Use a calibrated T20 Torx key or torque driver as specified in the toolholder manufacturer documentation to avoid over-torquing, which can strip threads or fracture the screw head. Inspect threads in the toolholder bore for damage before installing a replacement screw.
