The TOOL-FLO 642132NN4C is a carbide profiling insert designed for profiling and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the FLPR-132N GP50 standard, it features a parallelogram shape with a 55-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 10 degrees, and an 8-degree relief angle. The insert carries a PVD-applied TiN coating classified under grade GP50, which is suited for C5 and C6 carbide applications. With 2 cutting edges and a 0.0310-inch corner radius, this insert is intended for right-hand cutting in finishing and semi-finishing profiling passes. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
This insert is designed for profiling and turning applications where a parallelogram-style insert with positive rake and a fine corner radius is required. It is held in place by clamp or pin methods in compatible FLPR-series toolholders. The 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 1/2-inch insert length make it appropriate for moderate material removal on steel and similar workpieces. The chipbreaker geometry is of the common type, supporting chip control across a range of feed and depth conditions up to a maximum depth of cut of 0.5150 inches.
Designed for use in FLPR-series toolholders accepting a 132N insert size code with clamp or pin holding. Verify toolholder seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions before installation.
Installation of carbide turning inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque on clamping screws per the toolholder manufacturer specifications and inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the insert. Never force an insert into a pocket, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Confirm insert orientation and hand designation match the toolholder before resuming cuts.
