The TOOL-FLO 6335125PLJ5R is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiN coating, this insert delivers consistent edge life in demanding cutting environments. It features a 0.125 inch cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 0.25 inches, and a single-end design with a P-style chip breaker for controlled chip evacuation. The insert mounts via a clamp-style holding method within the Flo-Lock series tooling system. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments install this insert as a direct component of a Flo-Lock grooving assembly.
This insert is suited for grooving operations on stainless steel and similar secondary workpiece materials. Its left-hand orientation positions it for right-to-left grooving passes in standard turning setups. The Flo-Lock series is a precision clamping system designed for repeatable insert indexing and secure seating during interrupted and continuous grooving cuts. Typical applications include O-ring groove cutting, snap-ring grooves, undercuts, and parting-off operations in both residential-scale machine shops and larger production environments.
Designed for use with TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series grooving toolholders that accept FLGD-style inserts. ISO code FLGD-3125L-CB. Compatible toolholder systems require a 0.375 inch gage diameter seating. Verify insert style and size code against your specific Flo-Lock holder before installation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and all axes locked or at a safe position. Use the appropriate Flo-Lock clamping wrench or torx key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat and secure the insert clamp. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for this insert geometry. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp mechanism for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
