The TOOL-FLO 6335094PRN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision turning and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to FLGD insert style geometry, this insert carries a 0.094 inch cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.250 inch. The GP50 manufacturer grade carbide substrate is finished with a TiN coating applied via a PVD process, delivering wear resistance and extended tool life on steel and similar secondary workpiece materials. Right-hand orientation defines the cutting direction. A CB chip breaker geometry controls chip flow during grooving passes. This insert is part of the Flo-Lock series, which uses a clamp-style holding method for secure, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for external and face grooving applications in production turning environments, including job shops and manufacturing facilities running steel components. The FLGD geometry and CB chip breaker make it appropriate for moderate-to-finish depth grooving passes where chip control and dimensional accuracy are required. The 0.250 inch maximum depth of cut fits common groove profiles found in shaft, coupling, and fitting work. Secondary workpiece material compatibility is listed as steel. It is installed and changed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians as part of routine insert indexing.
Designed for use in Flo-Lock series clamp-style grooving toolholders that accept FLGD-style inserts. ISO code reference is FLGD-3094R-CB. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and insert seat dimensions before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely without over-torquing the clamp. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Always confirm insert orientation and hand designation match the toolholder before resuming cutting operations.
