The TOOL-FLO 6334125RAC3R is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision turning and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the AC3R manufacturer grade and features an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating applied via PVD process, which provides thermal resistance and extended tool life on demanding workpiece materials. The insert delivers a 0.125 inch cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.25 inches, making it suitable for shallow to mid-depth groove profiles. It is a single-end, right-hand insert intended for machinists and tooling setups in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is part of the Flo-Lock series and is suited for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel workpieces. It is held in place via a clamp-style insert holder, which is the standard retention method for Flo-Lock tooling systems. The insert style is FLGD with size code 3125, and it carries ISO code FLGD3125R. Typical applications include external and internal grooving, parting, and profile turning where repeatable groove geometry is required. It is a single-use configuration with no full-radius geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series grooving systems using FLGD3125 insert style holders with clamp retention. Manufacturers catalog number FLGD-3125R applies to compatible holder identification.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped before changing inserts. Use appropriate insert seating tools to ensure the clamp is torqued correctly against the pocket without rocking the insert. Verify the insert orientation is right-hand before securing, as incorrect hand orientation can result in immediate edge failure. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling system guidelines for feed rates and speeds when transitioning to a new insert grade.
