The TOOL-FLO 613800RAC50C is a carbide threading insert designed for both internal and external thread cutting operations. Built to the FLTP-3R insert style, it carries an AC50 manufacturer grade and is manufactured from C5/C6 carbide material with a PVD coating process for extended wear resistance. The insert covers an external pitch range of 6-20 TPI and an internal pitch range of 5-12 TPI, making it a versatile choice for general threading applications. It features a 60-degree included angle and a right-hand cutting orientation. Machinists and CNC lathe operators working in production threading environments will find this insert well suited to moderate-to-demanding thread-cutting tasks.
This insert is used in threading toolholders that accept the 3R insert size, supporting the Flo-Lock series system. It is appropriate for both internal threading operations on bored features and external threading on turned diameters. Typical application environments include job shops, production machining facilities, and OEM component manufacturing where consistent thread form and surface finish are required across carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar workpiece materials. The NV thread standard classification indicates compatibility with unified and standard thread form toolholders in the Flo-Lock series.
Designed for use with Flo-Lock series threading toolholders that accept the 3R insert size. Compatible with both internal and external threading applications per the NV thread standard. Specific toolholder model compatibility should be verified against TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series documentation.
Threading inserts should be installed and indexed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's seating and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing any insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or wear before seating the insert to ensure proper support and thread form accuracy. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines when setting cutting parameters.
