The TOOL-FLO 613800RAC3R is a carbide threading insert designed for both internal and external thread cutting operations on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment. It carries an AC3 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied coating over a C2/C3 carbide substrate, providing wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert covers an external pitch range of 6-20 TPI and an internal pitch range of 5-12 TPI, with a 60-degree included angle suited to unified and similar thread forms. At 0.195 inches thick, this FLTP-style insert seats securely in compatible Flo-Lock toolholders for repeatable thread form accuracy.
This insert is used in production and job-shop turning environments where consistent thread quality is required across multiple parts. The right-hand cut orientation makes it a standard choice for conventional threading passes on shafts, pipe fittings, fastener blanks, and hydraulic components. The Flo-Lock series design targets secure clamping and minimal insert deflection during threading cycles. Machinists and CNC operators working with steel, stainless, and similar materials will find this insert applicable to both inch-form threading and common industrial thread standards.
Designed for use with TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series threading toolholders accepting FLTP-style size 3R inserts.
This insert is seated and secured by a licensed machinist or CNC operator following the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures for the specific Flo-Lock holder in use. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating, and confirm insert orientation matches the required thread hand before resuming cutting operations. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping cutting edges during installation.
