The TOOL-FLO 613600RJ5R is a carbide threading insert in the Flo-Lock series, designed for cutting both internal and external threads on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The insert features a 60-degree V-thread form and covers an external pitch range of 10 to 44 TPI and an internal pitch range of 9 to 24 TPI, making it a versatile single-insert solution for a wide span of unified thread profiles. The GP3 manufacturer grade uses micrograin carbide substrate with a PVD-applied Titanium Nitride finish coating, delivering consistent edge wear resistance across ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Machinists and CNC setup technicians are the typical end users.
This insert is suited for threading operations in job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance repair applications where a broad TPI range is required without frequent insert changes. The right-hand cutting geometry and FLTK insert style position it for standard right-hand thread turning on lathes. It handles both internal thread forms and external thread forms, reducing the need to carry separate inserts for each application type. Typical materials include mild steel, alloy steel, stainless, and similar machinable metals where a 60-degree V-form is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement threading insert for toolholders and cartridges that accept FLTK-style size 3 inserts in the Flo-Lock series. Verify holder seat geometry and clamping style before installation.
Threading inserts are installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always index or replace the insert with the machine in a safe, powered-down state and the spindle locked. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces and torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert edge and corner radius condition before each threading pass to avoid thread form deviation.
