The TOOL-FLO 613600RAC3R is a carbide threading insert designed for both internal and external thread-cutting operations on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment. Built to the Flo-Lock (FTLK) insert style, it handles external pitches from 10 to 44 TPI and internal pitches from 9 to 24 TPI, covering a wide range of 60-degree V-thread forms. The insert carries a manufacturer grade of AC3 applied through a PVD coating process, which improves wear resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. At 0.1500 inches thick and a tip-to-top dimension of 0.1410 inches, it fits standard FTLK-style toolholders. Machinists and CNC programmers working in thread-turning applications will find this insert suited to general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous threading.
This insert is intended for right-hand thread-cutting on both internal and external workpiece features. The 60-degree included angle makes it compatible with Unified National (UN) and similar V-thread standards commonly encountered in general machining, maintenance repair, and production turning environments. The Flo-Lock series is designed for secure insert seating in its matching toolholder pockets, reducing insert movement during interrupted or continuous threading passes. It is appropriate for use in job shops, production facilities, and field machining operations where consistent thread form and repeat accuracy are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement threading insert for FTLK-series toolholders accepting size 3 inserts with a 60-degree V-thread profile.
Threading inserts of this type are installed and replaced by machinists or toolroom technicians following standard insert-change procedures for indexable toolholders. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder pocket. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the insert clamp to the manufacturer-specified feel - do not overtighten the clamping screw. Verify insert seating and edge index before resuming cutting operations, and confirm thread form with a go/no-go gauge or thread gauge after the first pass.
