The TOOL-FLO 603600LN4C is a left-hand Flo-Lock series threading insert designed for both internal and external thread cutting applications. Manufactured from carbide at material grade C5/C6 and coated with Titanium Nitride via a PVD process at manufacturer grade GP50, this insert handles internal pitches from 5 to 12 TPI and external pitches from 6 to 20 TPI on a 60-degree V thread form. At size 3 with a thickness of 0.195 inches, it is built to the dimensional standards expected in precision threading operations on CNC lathes and threading equipment. Machinists and tool-room technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials rely on this insert for consistent thread form accuracy.
This insert is suited for production threading environments where left-hand thread cutting is required on both internal bores and external diameters. The FLT insert style combined with the Flo-Lock series design provides secure seating in compatible toolholders. The CB chipbreaker geometry helps manage chip flow during threading passes, reducing the risk of chip interference in the cut zone. It is applicable in job shop, contract machining, and production floor settings across industries that require precise 60-degree unified or metric-style V-thread profiles.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement threading insert for Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLT style, size 3 inserts with a 60-degree V thread form geometry.
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or tool-room technicians following standard insert-change procedures for indexable threading toolholders. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion has ceased before removing or seating the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to achieve proper clamping force without over-torquing the insert screw. Confirm correct insert orientation for left-hand cutting direction before beginning a threading pass.
