The TOOL-FLO 593062PRN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the GP50C manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiN coating for wear resistance and extended tool life in steel applications. The insert features a 0.125 inch (3.18 mm) cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.180 inch (4.57 mm), making it suited for medium-depth grooving passes. A full corner radius of 0.062 inch (1.57 mm) helps produce a consistent finished profile at the groove base. This is a right-hand, double-ended insert from the Flo-Lock series, held in place by a clamp-style toolholder.
This insert is intended for production turning environments where grooving into steel workpieces demands dimensional consistency and coating durability. The Flo-Lock series design is built around clamp-style retention, providing rigid seating during interrupted cuts or continuous grooving passes. Typical users include CNC machinists and toolroom technicians running job-shop or production turning operations. The P-style chip breaker designation is optimized for steel chip control, reducing the risk of chip packing in the groove. The insert is supplied individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed for use with Flo-Lock series clamp-style grooving toolholders that accept the FLR 3062 insert size. ISO code FLR3062RCB. Compatible secondary workpiece material is steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle locked out and all axis motion disabled before handling inserts. Seat the insert fully into the Flo-Lock clamp pocket and verify clamp engagement before resuming cutting operations. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain dimensional accuracy. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for this insert grade.
