The TOOL-FLO 583620RAC3R is a carbide threading insert designed for precision thread-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the Flo-Lock series FLJK insert style, it cuts at 20 threads per inch (TPI) with a 60-degree included angle, handling both internal and external thread profiles in a single insert. The substrate is carbide at manufacturer grade AC3, material grade C2/C3, finished with a PVD coating for extended tool life in demanding threading applications. The insert measures 0.195 inches in thickness with a tip-to-top height of 0.141 inches and a corner radius ranging from 0.0075 to 0.0085 inches.
This insert is suited for threading operations conforming to the UNJ thread standard, which specifies a controlled root radius for high-stress and aerospace-grade fastener applications. It is appropriate for both internal bore threading and external diameter threading on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The right-hand cutting orientation makes it compatible with standard spindle-forward turning setups. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in precision machining, aerospace component manufacturing, and general CNC production will find this insert applicable to tight-tolerance threading work where root radius control is critical.
Designed for use with TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series FLJK-style toolholders accepting size 3008 threading inserts. Confirm toolholder pocket geometry and insert seating before use.
Threading inserts of this type are installed and indexed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians on CNC lathes or manual turning equipment. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating procedure and inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate specified in the toolholder documentation for this insert size.
