The TOOL-FLO 563825PRAC3R is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Flo-Lock series, designed for precision external grooving and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to grade AC3 with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, it delivers thermal and wear resistance suited to demanding interrupted cuts. The insert features a 0.1252-inch cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 0.18 inches, and a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees. A clamp-style holding method secures the insert in compatible Flo-Lock toolholders. This insert is typically installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 563825PRAC3R is a right-hand, double-end insert rated for grooving cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel. Its CB chip breaker geometry controls chip flow in interrupted and continuous grooving passes. The 0.375-inch gage diameter and 0.195-inch overall width make it suited for tight-clearance grooving applications where dimensional consistency is critical. The corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.010 inches provides a controlled edge break without compromising groove wall accuracy. This insert is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes within its rated depth range.
Designed for use with Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG-style inserts. ISO code FLG-3125R-CB. Also cross-referenced as MSC/Manufacturer number FLG-3125R/L-CB. Verify toolholder pocket dimensions and clamping method before installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket and confirm the clamp engages evenly before resuming cuts. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut of 0.18 inches, and inspect the insert edge condition regularly when running abrasive workpiece materials such as stainless steel or cast iron.
