The TOOL-FLO 563825PLAC50C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision groove turning and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Running in the Flo-Lock series under ISO code FLG3125L-CB, this insert features a left-hand cutting orientation with a 0.125 inch cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.18 inches. The AC50 grade solid carbide substrate is finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating applied via PVD process, delivering elevated hardness and oxidation resistance for steel workpiece applications. A neutral rake geometry and chip breaker (CB) configuration aid in controlled chip evacuation during grooving passes.
This insert is suited for steel turning applications in production machining environments, both job shop and manufacturing floor. The double-end design extends insert life by providing two usable cutting edges per insert. It seats into size 3 Flo-Lock clamp-style toolholders and is a direct fit for operations requiring tight corner radii between 0.005 and 0.010 inches. Typical users are CNC machinists and toolroom technicians running steel components where consistent groove width and depth control are critical.
Designed for use with Flo-Lock series clamp-style toolholders accepting a size 3 insert seat. Compatible with ISO designation FLG3125L-CB toolholder bodies. Primary workpiece material is steel. Not a full-radius insert.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate Flo-Lock clamp screw and torx key specified for the size 3 seat toolholder - do not substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for debris or damage before seating the insert. Verify cutting edge orientation (left-hand) matches the toolholder setup and programmed tool path before resuming operation.
