The TOOL-FLO 563694RJ5R is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the FLG3094 insert style in manufacturer grade GP3, it features a micrograin carbide substrate with a PVD-applied TiN coating for extended tool life and wear resistance. The cutting width measures 2.39 mm (0.0940 inches) with a maximum depth of cut of 4.57 mm (0.1799 inches). A positive rake angle of 55 degrees promotes free cutting action and reduces cutting forces. This insert is intended for installation by machining professionals and toolroom technicians.
This insert fits within the Flo-Lock series tooling system and is suited for grooving applications requiring controlled width and depth in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cutting orientation and 3-degree lead angle make it appropriate for standard turning setups where the tool approaches from the right. Typical applications include groove profiling, undercut work, and parting operations on production and job-shop turning equipment. The ISO code FLG-3094R identifies its form factor within compatible Flo-Lock toolholders.
Designed for use in Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG-style inserts with an ISO code of FLG-3094R. Gage diameter is 0.3750 inches (3/8 inch). Confirm toolholder seat dimensions and insert pocket specifications before installation.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by qualified machining personnel with the machine in a full stopped and locked-out state per applicable machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and insert clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert. Verify cutting direction and insert hand orientation match the programmed toolpath before resuming operation.
