The TOOL-FLO 563672RN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the FLG3072 insert style in grade GP50 with a PVD-applied TiN coating, this right-hand insert delivers a 1.83 mm (0.0720 inch) cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 3.05 mm (0.1201 inch). The positive rake geometry and 55-degree rake angle promote clean chip flow and reduced cutting forces. Machining professionals and CNC operators use this insert in production turning environments where dimensional consistency and tool life are critical priorities.
This insert is suited for grooving operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces in both production and job-shop turning applications. The Flo-Lock series design provides secure seating in compatible FLG-style toolholders, making it appropriate for both light and moderate-duty grooving passes. The GP50 carbide grade spans material grades C5 and C6, covering a range of steels including stainless steel. The 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) gage diameter and an overall width of 0.1950 inch make this insert well-matched to tight-tolerance groove profiles in smaller-diameter workpieces.
Designed for use in TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series FLG-style grooving toolholders. ISO code FLG-3072R identifies the correct holder family. Consult the TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock catalog to confirm holder compatibility before ordering.
Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a full stop and lockout/tagout procedures applied. Use the correct torx or hex key to the insert screw as specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert, and confirm the insert is fully seated and locked before resuming the cut. Wear appropriate PPE when handling carbide inserts, as edges are sharp.
