The TOOL-FLO 563662RN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Flo-Lock series, designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a GP50 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiN coating, delivering wear resistance and surface lubricity on demanding materials. The right-hand configuration features a 1.57 mm cutting width (0.0618 inch) and a maximum depth of cut of 3.05 mm (0.1201 inch). A positive rake angle of 55 degrees reduces cutting forces and helps maintain edge stability during interrupted or continuous grooving cuts. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this insert where dimensional accuracy in groove geometry is required.
This insert is suited for grooving applications in production turning environments, including external grooving and parting-off operations. It is classified for use on steel and stainless steel workpieces. The FLG insert style and 3062 size code correspond to the Flo-Lock toolholder system, making it a direct fit for compatible TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock grooving toolholders. The ISO code for this insert is FLG-3062R. It is intended for use where metric tooling standards apply and where a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) gage diameter is specified.
Designed for use in TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series grooving toolholders accepting the FLG-3062R insert style. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes stainless steel. Gage diameter is 0.3750 inch (3/8 inch).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate insert seating tool or torque wrench per the toolholder manufacturer's specification to secure the insert clamp - do not overtighten by hand. Verify insert orientation matches the right-hand designation of the toolholder before initiating a cut.
