The TOOL-FLO 563662LAC3R is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 0.062-inch cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 0.12 inches, making it well-suited for tight-tolerance groove profiles. The insert carries an AC3 manufacturer grade with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating applied via PVD process, which improves wear resistance and tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The left-hand orientation and neutral rake geometry suit specific toolholder configurations where the insert is clamped in place. This insert is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10.
This insert is intended for use in the Flo-Lock series tooling system, which uses a clamp-style insert holding method. It is sized to an insert seat size 3 and carries the ISO designation FLG-3062L. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel, making it a versatile choice across general turning and production machining environments. The double-end configuration allows for two usable cutting edges per insert, extending value in high-volume applications. Installation and setup are typically handled by machinists and CNC operators working within established tool change procedures.
Designed for use with Flo-Lock series clamp-style toolholders accepting an insert seat size 3 and the FLG-3062L ISO profile. Refer to TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock toolholder documentation to confirm holder compatibility before ordering.
Insert replacement should be performed with the machine fully powered down and all axes at rest. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Follow your facility safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine-guarding requirements during any tooling change.
