The TOOL-FLO 563647PRAC3R is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured in the AC3 grade with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, this right-hand insert belongs to the Flo-Lock series and is held in place by a clamp-style toolholder. It delivers a cutting width of 0.047 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.075 inches, making it well-suited for narrow groove applications where dimensional accuracy and tool life are critical. The double-ended design extends usable tool life per insert. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers and operators of this insert.
This insert is intended for grooving cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel in production turning environments. The CB chip breaker geometry helps manage chip formation across these varied workpiece materials. With a neutral rake angle and a lead angle of 3 degrees, the insert is optimized for controlled cutting action in tight groove profiles. It fits Flo-Lock series clamp-style grooving toolholders sized for 0.375-inch inserts. Typical applications include groove cutting on shafts, fittings, and machined components where tight width tolerances are required.
Designed for use with Flo-Lock series clamp-style grooving toolholders accepting 0.375-inch inserts. ISO code FLG-3047R-CB. Compatible primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before seating or replacing the insert. Ensure the clamp and toolholder seat are free of chips and debris before securing the insert to maintain proper seating and cutting geometry. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum depth of cut or feed rates for this insert grade and coating. Inspect the cutting edge and corner radius condition at regular intervals to prevent unexpected tool failure during production runs.
