The TOOL-FLO 562694RN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the GP50 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiN coating, delivering wear resistance across a range of ferrous and stainless steel workpiece materials. The insert features a right-hand cutting orientation, a 2.39 mm (0.0940 inch) cutting width, and a maximum depth of cut of 2.79 mm (0.1098 inch). It belongs to TOOL-FLO's Flo-Lock series and is sized to the FLG-2094 ISO code designation. Machinist and CNC tooling technicians working in production turning environments are the primary installers and users of this insert.
This insert is suited for grooving and groove-finishing applications in both production and job-shop turning environments. It performs on ferrous materials as well as stainless steel workpieces, making it a practical choice where multiple material types run on the same machine. The Flo-Lock series tooling system accepts this FLG2094-style insert directly. The right-hand configuration positions the cutting edge for standard-direction turning operations. Insert size code 2094 corresponds to a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) gage diameter and a 0.2190 inch cutting height.
Designed for use in TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG2094-style grooving inserts. Compatible with material grades C5 and C6. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes stainless steel in addition to standard ferrous materials.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered off and all axes at a safe rest position. Use the correct Torx or insert-clamp tool specified by the Flo-Lock toolholder to seat the insert fully before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert seat and clamping mechanism for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Always verify cutting width and depth-of-cut settings against your part program before taking the first pass.
