The TOOL-FLO 562662RN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to GP50 grade with a PVD-applied TiN coating, this right-hand insert delivers consistent performance across general-purpose and stainless steel turning applications. The insert features a 1.57 mm (0.0618 inch) cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 2.79 mm (0.1098 inch), making it well suited for shallow groove profiles requiring tight dimensional control. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians as a replacement or production insert in Flo-Lock series toolholders.
This insert is used in production turning environments where consistent groove geometry and tool life are priorities. Its positive rake geometry at 55 degrees reduces cutting forces, which is advantageous when machining stainless steel and other work-hardening materials. The 3-degree lead angle and full-radius designation of No indicate a sharp corner profile suitable for applications where groove wall definition is critical. Typical install scenarios include CNC turning centers in job shops, contract machining facilities, and maintenance repair operations running medium to high production volumes.
Designed for use with TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG-2062R insert style. Compatible with applications involving stainless steel as a secondary workpiece material alongside general C5 and C6 grade materials. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against insert size code 2062 before installation.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians into compatible Flo-Lock series toolholders. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert clamp - do not overtighten by feel alone, follow the toolholder documentation. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper registration and avoid premature edge failure.
