The TOOL-FLO 562647LN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the FLG-2047L ISO code in TOOL-FLO's Flo-Lock series, it features a 1.19 mm (0.0470 inch) cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 1.27 mm (0.0500 inch). The GP50 grade substrate is finished with a PVD-applied TiN coating, improving wear resistance and edge life. The positive rake geometry and left-hand orientation make it suited for specific toolholder configurations requiring a left-hand insert. Machining professionals and CNC operators working with tight groove tolerances will find the consistent geometry critical for repeatable results.
This insert is intended for grooving applications where close dimensional control is required. The secondary workpiece material designation includes stainless steel, making it appropriate for shops working with harder, work-hardening alloys in addition to general steel turning. The Flo-Lock series is engineered for secure seating in compatible Flo-Lock toolholders, reducing insert movement under cutting loads. Typical applications include groove turning, parting preparation, and undercut operations on production or job-shop turning equipment.
Designed for use in TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG-2047L style inserts. Insert size code is 2047 with ISO code FLG-2047L. Compatible workpiece materials include steel and stainless steel per the manufacturer attribute data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully into the Flo-Lock pocket and verify clamping engagement before initiating any cutting cycle. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating to avoid improper contact and premature edge failure. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut of 1.27 mm per pass.
