The TOOL-FLO 562641RN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision turning and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the FLG insert style in size 2041, coated with TiN via a PVD process for wear resistance and extended tool life. The right-hand orientation and positive rake angle of 55 degrees support clean chip flow and reduced cutting forces. With a cutting width of 1.04 mm and a maximum depth of cut of 1.27 mm, this insert is built for tight, controlled grooving in metalworking applications. It is installed and used by machinists and tooling specialists working in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for grooving and turning applications where precise groove width control is required. It is commonly applied in secondary operations on stainless steel workpieces, as well as materials falling within C5 and C6 material grade classifications. The Flo-Lock series is engineered for secure clamping and repeatable indexing in compatible toolholders. The ISO code FLG-2041R identifies compatible holder and pocket geometry. It is appropriate for both production runs and precision single-part work where dimensional consistency is critical.
Designed for use in Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG-2041R geometry inserts. Compatible workpiece materials include stainless steel and applications within C5 and C6 material grade classifications. Verify pocket geometry and clamping style against the ISO code FLG-2041R before ordering.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert seating tool specified for the Flo-Lock clamping system to avoid seat damage. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
