The TOOL-FLO 562631RN4C is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the FLG-2031R ISO code and manufactured in grade GP50 with a PVD-applied TiN coating, this right-hand insert delivers consistent performance in tight-tolerance grooves. The cutting width measures 0.79 mm (0.0310 inches) with a maximum depth of cut of 1.27 mm (0.0500 inches). The positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces and helps maintain dimensional accuracy across repeated passes. Installation and tooling setup are handled by machinists and CNC turning specialists working with Flo-Lock compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for grooving operations in production and job-shop turning environments where close width tolerances and smooth finish are required. The GP50 carbide grade with TiN finish is specified for use on steel and stainless steel workpieces. The positive rake angle of 55 degrees and a 3-degree lead angle make this insert well matched to applications where controlled chip flow and reduced tool pressure matter. It is not a multi-use insert and should be used only in applications matching its rated geometry and depth-of-cut range.
Designed for use with Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG-style inserts in size 2031. Rated for C5 and C6 material grades including stainless steel workpiece materials as noted in the product specifications.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping procedure. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating a new insert, as debris under the insert can cause premature edge failure or dimensional error. Always verify cutting parameters against the GP50 grade recommendations before running production.
