The TOOL-FLO 562631RJ5R is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to FLG insert style in size code 2031, this insert features a TiN (titanium nitride) coating applied via PVD process and carries a GP3 manufacturer grade with a micrograin carbide substrate. It cuts with a right-hand orientation and delivers a 0.79 mm cutting width with a maximum depth of cut of 1.27 mm. The positive rake geometry and 55-degree rake angle promote clean chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments install this insert as part of the Flo-Lock series tooling system.
This insert is suited for grooving operations requiring tight dimensional control on small-diameter features. The 3/16 inch gage diameter and 0.1875 inch gage diameter spec make it appropriate for close-tolerance groove profiles on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The corner radius range of 0.0020 to 0.0050 inch supports controlled root geometry without full-radius profiling. The Flo-Lock series is a modular insert system intended for use in compatible TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock grooving toolholders. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series grooving toolholders that accept the FLG-2031R insert style. The ISO code FLG-2031R and MSC/Manufacturer reference FLG-2031R/L confirm fitment within the Flo-Lock modular insert system.
This insert is installed and replaced by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before seating or removing the insert. Use the appropriate Flo-Lock toolholder clamp mechanism and torque the retaining screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before installation to prevent improper seating and premature insert failure.
