The TOOL-FLO 0153000AC3A is a solid carbide on-edge threading insert designed for cutting 60-degree V-form threads on both external and internal applications. It carries a neutral cutting direction and neutral rake geometry, making it suitable across a broad range of lathe and threading tool setups without requiring hand-specific tooling. The insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which improves wear resistance and thermal stability during threading operations. With an inscribed circle of 0.6250 inches and a corner radius of 0.0080 inches, it is built for precise thread form reproduction in production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers.
This insert covers a thread pitch range of 4 to 20 TPI for both external and internal threading, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of standard 60-degree V-thread forms. The universal primary workpiece material classification indicates suitability across multiple material groups, including steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, high-temperature alloys, and similar categories as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It fits TNMC-style insert pockets with an insert size code of 54, and is sold individually with a minimum order of 10 pieces.
Designed to seat in TNMC-style insert pockets with insert size code 54. Refer to TOOL-FLO toolholder documentation to confirm pocket geometry and clamping method before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC turning technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or replacing any insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench or clamp screw driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and repeatability.
