The TITAN USA TR96209 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream holes to a precise 0.7490-inch diameter with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches. Machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent material removal in a wide range of production and job-shop drilling operations. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. With 8 flutes and a 2.5-inch flute length on a 9.5-inch overall length, the TR96209 is suited for machinists and toolroom technicians who need reliable, repeatable hole sizing on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
This reamer is used in machine shop environments for finishing drilled or bored holes to close-tolerance dimensions. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where a chucking-style setup is required. The straight-flute geometry works well in through-holes and shorter blind-hole applications. It belongs to the TITAN USA TR96 series, which covers the 0.7000 to 0.9999-inch decimal-inch diameter range, making it a standard selection for medium-diameter reaming tasks in both prototype and production settings.
Part of the TITAN USA TR96 series covering the 0.7000 to 0.9999-inch diameter range. Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders that accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the corresponding diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with reaming operations. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is properly aligned before starting the cut — misalignment is the leading cause of oversized or bell-mouthed holes. Always run reamers at lower RPMs than the drill used to create the pilot hole, and apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material. Inspect the flutes for wear or chipping before each use; a dull reamer will produce oversized holes and poor surface finish.
