The TITAN USA TR96174 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machined components. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer produces accurate, clean bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It measures 0.5010 inches in diameter with a tolerance of +0.0003 to -0.0000 inches, ensuring tight dimensional control on finished holes. The 8-inch overall length and 2-inch flute length make it well suited for general-purpose reaming in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. Installation is handled by machinists and toolroom technicians working to close-tolerance specifications in production and job-shop environments.
This reamer is used in metal fabrication, toolroom operations, and general machining applications where precise bore sizing is required. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard chucks and collets without modification. With 6 right-hand cutting flutes and a straight spiral direction, it provides consistent chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in through-hole and blind-hole reaming operations on mild steels, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials. It is not configured for coolant-through delivery and does not function as a dowel pin reamer or over/under-size reamer.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard machine tool spindles accepting straight-cylindrical shanks, including CNC machining centers, drill presses, turret lathes, and manual milling machines equipped with compatible chucks or collets.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming procedures and machine tool operation. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible chuck or collet before operation and confirm the workpiece is properly clamped. Always apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Do not use this reamer as a primary drilling tool — it is designed for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes only.
