The TITAN USA TR94852 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal machining applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS), it delivers consistent cutting performance on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The reamer measures 0.4985 inches in diameter with an overall length of 8 inches and a 2-inch flute length, making it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole finishing where tight bore tolerances are required. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly in a drill chuck or collet, and the uncoated HSS construction allows for resharpening to extend tool life. Machinists and toolroom professionals in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments rely on this tool type for consistent final-pass sizing.
This chucking reamer is used in machine shop and toolroom operations where final hole sizing and surface finish are critical. Common applications include reaming pre-drilled or bored holes to close tolerances in mild steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. The right-hand cutting direction and 6-flute geometry produce smooth bore walls with minimal chatter. It is appropriate for use in drill presses, lathes, CNC machining centers, and manual milling machines where the shank can be held in a standard chuck or collet. The Series TR94 designation identifies it within the TITAN USA chucking reamer line.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any machine tool that accepts a straight cylindrical shank, including drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers with an appropriate chuck or collet.
Chucking reamers are installed and serviced by machinists and toolroom technicians. Always secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits to avoid oversize or tapered bores. Use an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to improve finish and extend tool life. Never force a reamer into an undersized hole; ensure the pre-drilled or bored hole is within the recommended allowance for the nominal reamer diameter before reaming.
