The TITAN USA TE81257 is a single-end, square-profile cobalt end mill designed for milling operations on ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. It measures 1.0000 inches in cutting diameter with a 1.875-inch length of cut, a 0.75-inch Weldon flat shank, and a 4.125-inch overall length. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS end mills. The 30-degree helix angle and 4-flute configuration provide a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It ships uncoated with a bright finish, ready for use in conventional or CNC knee mills, vertical machining centers, and manual bridgeport-style machines. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary end users.
This end mill is suited for peripheral and slot milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous materials where cobalt tooling is preferred over carbide for interrupted cuts or setups prone to vibration. The upcut flute direction pulls chips away from the workpiece surface, reducing re-cutting. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard spindle rotation conventions. The Weldon flat shank seats securely in side-lock tool holders, which is common in manual machining environments and some CNC setups requiring positive drive. Single-end design makes it a consumable replacement tool for production and job-shop environments alike.
Designed as a standard replacement square end mill for use in 3/4-inch side-lock or Weldon flat tool holders. Compatible with manual knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC setups accepting a 0.75-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the tool holder and torque the side-lock screw to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, and confirm correct spindle direction matches the right-hand cut geometry of this tool.
