The TITAN USA TC87383 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to bring holes to a precise finished diameter in metalworking and machining operations. Built from solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for accurate sizing in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The reamer measures 0.3125 inches (5/16 inch) in diameter with a 3.25 inch overall length and a 1.125 inch flute length. Six straight flutes with right-hand cutting direction provide smooth material removal and consistent hole geometry. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks, collets, or machine tool holders without adapter modifications.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, drill presses, and manual lathes where controlled reaming of through-holes and blind holes is required. It is well-suited for tool and die work, fixture building, and precision-fit hole finishing in production and maintenance environments. Machinists and toolmakers use this style of reamer when dimensional tolerances demand a finish that a drill alone cannot achieve. The TC87383 holds a tolerance of plus 0.0003 to minus 0.0000 inches on diameter, making it appropriate for press fits, dowel pin bores, and close-clearance bushing applications.
Designed as a direct-fit chucking reamer for use in any machine tool spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the corresponding diameter range. Part of the TITAN USA TC87 series of solid carbide chucking reamers.
Install the TC87383 in a rigid machine spindle using a properly sized collet or drill chuck to minimize runout before beginning any reaming operation. Always pre-drill or bore the hole to the appropriate undersize before reaming — never attempt to use a reamer as a primary material-removal tool. Use the recommended cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Secure the workpiece fully before starting the spindle, and allow the tool to clear the hole completely before reversing or retracting.
