The TITAN USA TC87311 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.250 inch (Letter E) cutting diameter, 4 straight flutes, and an uncoated solid carbide construction, this reamer delivers accurate, repeatable sizing in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight shank allows direct mounting in drill chucks or collets on manual lathes, CNC turning centers, and milling machines. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this reamer where tight tolerance bores are required and drill-quality holes are not acceptable. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1 inch flute length.
This chucking reamer is suited for light-to-medium stock removal in through-holes and blind holes where a finished bore diameter of 0.250 inch is required. Typical applications include fixture and jig work, bearing seat preparation, and close-tolerance pin or dowel fits. The solid carbide body maintains rigidity at higher speeds compared to high-speed steel alternatives, making it appropriate for production environments and short-run precision work alike. It is sold individually and does not require special adapters beyond a standard straight-shank chuck or collet of the appropriate bore size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use chucking reamer for standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 0.250 inch shank diameter. Compatible with manual lathes, knee mills, and CNC machining centers equipped with appropriate collet or drill chuck setups.
Chucking reamers are installed by licensed machinists and toolroom personnel. Always secure the straight shank fully within the collet or chuck jaws before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator where tolerance is critical. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and achieve the target surface finish.
