The TITAN USA TC79013 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and hard-to-machine materials. Ground to a 118-degree split point, it starts on contact without a center punch and resists walking on flat or curved surfaces. The ALTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating raises surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in demanding applications. At 13/64 inch (0.2031 inch) in diameter with a 3-inch overall length and a 1-3/4 inch flute length, the TC79013 fits standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders with a straight-cylindrical shank of the same 13/64 inch diameter. This bit is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance trades working on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium.
The TC79013 belongs to the TITAN USA TC79 Series, a general-purpose carbide drill line engineered for production and maintenance drilling across a wide range of hard workpiece materials. It carries a 9xD flute-to-diameter ratio, providing adequate chip clearance in deeper passes without sacrificing rigidity. Typical applications include drilling steel plate, stainless fabrications, cast iron housings, and superalloy or titanium components in manufacturing, HVAC equipment fabrication, and industrial maintenance environments. The right-hand spiral flute with two flutes and no double margin keeps regrinding straightforward. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, and S). Designed as a general-purpose replacement drill bit in the TC79 Series for applications requiring a 13/64 inch carbide drill with ALTiN coating.
Installation and operation of carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists or trained maintenance professionals. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before drilling to avoid chipping the carbide. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts without reduced feed rates, and contact with hardened surfaces beyond the rated material scope. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material.
