The TITAN USA TC73930 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter, 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single-end, stub-length configuration. The 4-flute, right-hand helical design runs at a medium helix angle and is finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating for heat resistance and extended tool life in abrasive and high-temperature materials. Shank diameter matches the mill diameter at 5/16 inch with an h6 tolerance, ensuring secure toolholder engagement.
The TC73930 is suited for machining superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and other ferrous metals. Its stub-length geometry provides rigidity in tight setups, making it a practical choice for milling operations on CNC machining centers where minimizing deflection in hard-to-machine materials is critical. The centercutting designation in the raw data is noted as no in the attribute specs, so this tool is intended for peripheral and side milling rather than plunge cuts.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC milling applications involving superalloys, titanium alloy, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces per the manufacturer material application designations S, M, and K.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank, and torque set screws or collet nuts to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly when working with hard materials where tool deflection can cause premature edge wear. Do not use this tool for plunge entry given its non-centercutting geometry.
