The TITAN USA TC61724 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 3/8 inch diameter with a 0.0200 inch corner radius, five flutes, and a 45-degree high helix angle. The cutting geometry is paired with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating applied to extend tool life in abrasive and high-temperature applications. With a stub-length flute design and right-hand cutting and flute direction, this end mill suits both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed machinists and tool-room operators working in aerospace, medical, or precision manufacturing environments are the primary users.
This end mill is built for cutting superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and other ferrous metals. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance needed when machining high-temperature alloys at elevated cutting speeds. The 0.6250 inch reach length and 0.6250 inch length of cut make it well suited to shallow-pocket and contour milling where rigidity is critical. It accepts standard straight-cylindrical toolholders with a 3/8 inch shank. Single-end configuration keeps the tool compact for use in tight-clearance fixtures common in 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC milling applications in superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a five-flute geometry. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for set-screw or collet-style retention.
