The TITAN USA TC49740 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 5/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.04 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes, this single-end tool delivers controlled cutting action and extended tool life. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating adds heat and wear resistance, making the TC49740 well-suited for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions at elevated spindle speeds. It is built for machinists and tooling technicians working on CNC machining centers and milling machines where tight tolerances and surface finish consistency are required.
The TC49740 is intended for roughing operations in ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, alloy steel, titanium alloy, and Inconel. Its high-helix flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces in tough-to-machine superalloys and stainless steel grades. The coarse pitch and 3.5 inch overall length make it appropriate for standard reach milling setups. It mounts in straight-bore toolholders with a 5/8 inch cylindrical shank and is suited to production and job shop environments running medium to high material removal rates.
Designed for use with straight-bore cylindrical toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include superalloys and titanium (S), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K). Also rated for ferrous metals, alloy steel, titanium alloy, and Inconel applications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, properly sized toolholder before tightening. Verify runout and shank engagement depth meet the machine tool manufacturer specifications before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material and coating type.
