The TITAN USA TC29022 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasive materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures without sacrificing edge life. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces thrust force and enables accurate self-centering on entry. At 3 inches overall length (OAL), this is a stub-length format that maximizes rigidity and minimizes deflection in short-reach applications. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and quick-change holders. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals reach for this bit when drilling stainless steel, hardened alloys, cast iron, or other demanding workpiece materials.
The TC29022 fits production drilling, CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual operations where a compact, rigid bit is required. The screw machine length format is preferred when hole depth is shallow and chatter or bit deflection must be controlled. The 2-flute spiral configuration evacuates chips efficiently in both through-hole and blind-hole applications. With a flute length of 1-3/8 inches, it accommodates typical screw machine and short-cycle drilling depths without chip packing. This bit is suited for job shops, manufacturing facilities, and field maintenance crews working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 11/32-inch diameter range, consistent with Series 201 screw machine length carbide drill bit applications.
Install and remove this bit only while the machine is fully powered down and the spindle has come to a complete stop. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is tightened to the tool holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Solid carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rate adjustment, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection when drilling hardened or exotic materials.
