The TITAN USA TC28732 is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to create accurate, burr-free center spots before drilling operations. With a 90-degree point angle and a 0.5000-inch cutting diameter, it establishes precise drill entry points that reduce walking and improve hole location accuracy. The AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, making this tool suitable for higher cutting speeds and extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and quick-change tooling systems. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This spotting drill is suited for general-purpose machining applications in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments. It is used on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where precise hole placement is critical. The right-hand cutting direction and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and keyless drill chucks. Applications include spotting for twist drills, countersinks, and boring operations across steel, stainless, cast iron, and aluminum workpieces.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting drill compatible with standard 1/2-inch collet chucks, keyless chucks, and ER collet toolholders on CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and drill presses.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the shank to confirm proper alignment before cutting. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for appropriate feed rates and spindle speeds for the workpiece material.
