The TITAN USA TC20121 is a screw machine length drill bit sized to Letter U (0.3680 inches) and built from solid carbide for use in demanding production drilling applications. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking and cutting thrust, allowing the bit to start on contact without a center punch on most materials. At 3 inches overall length, screw machine length bits provide greater rigidity than jobber-length bits, making them well suited for drill press, CNC, and turret lathe work where runout and deflection must be minimized. The two-flute regular spiral design promotes chip evacuation in a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, and hard plastics.
This bit is intended for production environments and machine shop applications where a shorter, stiffer drill is preferred over standard jobber length. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in drill chucks and quick-change tool holders on vertical machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. The bright uncoated finish makes it suitable for use with cutting fluid or dry, and the solid carbide construction handles higher spindle speeds and feed rates than high-speed steel alternatives. A licensed machinist or CNC operator would typically select this bit for close-tolerance through-holes and counterbore pilots in ferrous and non-ferrous stock.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application screw machine drill bit for any standard drill chuck or quick-change tool holder accepting a straight cylindrical shank in the Letter U (0.3680 inch) diameter range of 0.3500 to 0.4000 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with proper tooling setup and speeds-and-feeds selection for carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the bit from the chuck or tool holder. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts beyond the tool rating, and impact that can chip the cutting edge. Verify chuck runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning production runs to prevent premature tool failure.
