The TITAN USA TC20118 is a screw machine length drill bit sized to Letter R (0.3390 inches) with a 135-degree split point and solid carbide construction. Screw machine length bits are shorter than jobber-length equivalents, which increases rigidity and reduces deflection in high-cycle production and machining environments. The split point geometry starts on contact without a center punch, improving hole location accuracy. With two regular spiral flutes and a bright uncoated finish, this bit is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating is not required. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks. Overall length is 3 inches with a flute length of 1.375 inches.
This bit is used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drill motors in production shops, machine shops, and maintenance environments. Its stub-length design is preferred when drilling through fixtures, close to shoulders, or in tight axial clearance situations. The solid carbide body offers greater hardness and heat resistance than high-speed steel, making it appropriate for higher spindle speeds and harder workpiece materials. Installation and use are performed by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance mechanics.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production-use bit for standard straight-shank drill chucks accepting 0.3390-inch diameter tooling in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drill motors.
De-energize and lock out all machine power before installing or changing tooling. Secure the straight shank fully within the chuck jaws and verify concentricity before beginning a cut. Screw machine length bits require appropriate spindle speed and feed rate selection for the workpiece material — consult machining data references for solid carbide tooling. Inspect the cutting edges before each use; carbide is brittle and can chip if the bit is dropped or improperly stored.
