The TITAN USA CD50322 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit sized to Letter V (0.3770 inches diameter) with a 135-degree split point and oxide/gold coating. It is designed for drilling through hard, abrasion-resistant materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — applications where standard high-speed steel bits fail prematurely. The two-flute spiral design in regular spiral type provides efficient chip evacuation over a 3.625-inch flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without modification. At 5 inches overall length, this bit is suited for production drilling, maintenance shops, and fabrication environments where consistent, accurate hole sizing in tough materials is required.
This drill bit is intended for use in heavy-duty drilling applications involving stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. It is a strong fit for metalworking shops, aerospace maintenance operations, industrial fabrication, and commercial HVAC and plumbing fabrication where drilling into hard-metal components is routine. The CD50 series is built for demanding material groups classified under ISO material codes M and S. It is sold individually and is appropriate wherever a single Letter V diameter hole in a difficult substrate is needed without resorting to carbide tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard drill presses, hand drills, and CNC machining centers accepting a straight-cylindrical shank at 0.3770 inches diameter; primary workpiece compatibility is stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium per ISO material codes M and S.
This bit is installed by a machinist, toolmaker, or qualified tradesperson by seating the straight shank fully into a keyed or keyless chuck and tightening securely before operation. Ensure the drilling machine is powered off and the workpiece is clamped or fixtured before bit changes. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant on the workpiece surface when drilling stainless steel or superalloys to manage heat buildup, as coolant-through is not available on this bit. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace when point integrity is compromised.
