The TITAN USA CD50203 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge number 3, equal to 0.213 inches in diameter. It features a 135-degree split point for self-centering starts that reduce walking on hard or slick surfaces. The spiral flute geometry follows a regular helix with a 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio, producing clean chip evacuation during continuous drilling operations. An oxide and TiN combination coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance. At 3.75 inches overall length with a 2.5-inch flute, this bit fits standard drill chucks and is sized for production or maintenance drilling tasks handled by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and metal fabricators.
The CD50203 is engineered for drilling stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — materials that generate high heat and work-harden quickly under inadequate tooling. The cobalt construction (M-grade and S-grade workpiece material codes) provides the red hardness needed to maintain cutting edge integrity in these demanding materials. It is equally suited to maintenance shops drilling structural stainless fastener holes, aerospace fabrication environments, and metal fabrication operations where standard high-speed steel bits fail prematurely. The straight cylindrical shank seats cleanly in keyless or keyed drill chucks without slippage.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production-use drill bit for standard 3-jaw keyless and keyed drill chucks accepting a 0.213-inch straight cylindrical shank. Optimized for use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials per Series CD50 design intent.
Secure the shank fully into the drill chuck and verify runout before beginning the cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so apply cutting fluid externally when drilling stainless steel or titanium to manage heat buildup and prevent work hardening. Use the lowest feed rate that maintains chip formation to preserve the cutting edge. Inspect the split point for chipping after use on abrasive superalloys before returning the bit to service.
