The TITAN USA CD47754 is a TiN-coated high speed steel jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 50 (0.0550 inches, 1.40 mm). The titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in repetitive drilling operations. The 118-degree standard point angle is a general-purpose geometry that centers quickly and cuts cleanly in a wide range of materials. At 1.875 inches overall length with a 0.875-inch spiral flute, this is a compact bit suited for close-quarter or small-part drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks without an adapter. It is part of the TITAN USA CD47 series and is sold as a single unit.
This bit is intended for drilling non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys. It is also suitable for plastics and other soft materials where a standard 118-degree point performs well. Typical applications include sheet metal work, instrument panel fabrication, electrical enclosure work, and general maintenance drilling where small-diameter precision holes are required. The right-hand spiral flute evacuates chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling at this diameter range.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or stock drill bit for any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 0.0550-inch straight shank. Suitable for benchtop drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling setups configured for the No. 50 wire gauge size range (0.0500 to 0.1000 inches).
A licensed machinist, electrician, or experienced tradesperson should secure the shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before use, verifying concentricity to minimize runout at this small diameter. Power down and de-energize any machine tool before changing bits. At this diameter, feed pressure should be controlled carefully to avoid bit deflection or breakage — use a drill press or guide when hole location tolerance is critical. Follow applicable shop safety standards and wear appropriate eye protection during all drilling operations.
