The TITAN USA CD44515 is a jobber-length twist drill bit engineered for professional drilling applications in metal fabrication, maintenance, and industrial trade work. Sized at 15/64 inch (0.2344 inch) diameter, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and minimizes the need for a center punch on most surfaces. The bit is ground from high-speed steel (HSS) and finished with a black oxide and TiN (titanium nitride) coating to resist heat and extend tool life. With an overall length of 3.875 inches and a 2.625-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and handles typical through-hole drilling depths in one pass.
The CD44515 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. It is used in fabrication shops, mechanical contracting, and general industrial maintenance where precise, repeatable hole sizing in hard materials is required. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in keyed or keyless chucks on corded drills, drill presses, and CNC machines. The 2-flute regular spiral flute design clears chips efficiently during right-hand cutting operations.
Compatible with drilling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium alloys. Designed as a standard jobber-length replacement bit for use in hand drills, drill presses, and compatible CNC equipment accepting a 15/64 inch straight shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals familiar with rotary cutting tool safety. Secure the workpiece before drilling and confirm the chuck is fully tightened on the straight shank before operation. Apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel, hardened alloys, or superalloys to manage heat and extend bit life. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is present.
