The TITAN USA CD40859 is a wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit sized at No. 58 (0.0410 inches diameter) and designed for general-purpose drilling in light-duty production and maintenance applications. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish and features a standard 118-degree point angle suited for drilling into non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar workpiece materials. The two-flute spiral design with regular spiral type promotes efficient chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole operations. At 1.625 inches overall length with an 11/16-inch flute, this is a compact, precision-tolerance bit appropriate for technicians, machinists, and trade professionals working with small-diameter hole requirements.
This bit is intended for use in standard drilling operations on non-ferrous metals and comparable materials in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The straight-cylindrical shank, identical in diameter to the cutting edge at 0.0410 inches, allows use in standard drill chucks and precision collet holders without adapter sleeves. Typical applications include sheet metal work, electrical panel fabrication, plumbing rough-in tasks requiring pilot holes in soft metals, and general maintenance drilling where a small, precise hole is needed.
Designed as a standard wire-gauge jobber drill bit for use in any drill press, hand drill, or precision drilling fixture accepting a 0.0410-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the TITAN USA CD40 series.
This bit is installed and removed by a licensed machinist, electrician, plumber, or qualified trade professional using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck. Ensure the drill or drill press is fully powered off and unplugged before changing bits. Secure the workpiece properly before drilling to prevent movement, which can deflect or snap small-diameter bits. At this diameter, use low feed pressure and appropriate drilling speeds for the workpiece material to avoid bit breakage.
