The TITAN USA CD40847 is a No. 46 wire gauge jobber-length drill bit made from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish. It features a 118-degree standard point angle and a two-flute right-hand spiral configuration, making it a general-purpose drill suited for production and maintenance drilling applications. The straight cylindrical shank measures 5/64 inches in diameter with an overall length of 2 inches and a flute length of 1 inch. The bright uncoated finish keeps cost low and works well in applications where lubrication is applied at the cutting zone. Machinists, maintenance techs, and fabricators use this bit for precise small-diameter hole work in non-ferrous metals and similar materials.
This drill bit is sized for No. 46 wire gauge applications, equivalent to a decimal diameter of 0.0785 inches. It fits standard drill chucks and collet systems that accept straight cylindrical shanks at 5/64 inches. Typical use cases include light manufacturing, maintenance and repair operations, and bench drilling in non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper. The regular spiral type and 13xD flute-to-diameter ratio support chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes up to 1 inch. Sold individually, it is a direct drop-in for common jobber drill assortments and index sets.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 5/64-inch straight cylindrical shank, including benchtop drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling operations on non-ferrous metals.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using standard drill press or hand-drill equipment. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for precision work. Apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling metals to extend tool life and improve hole finish. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dulling is observed.
