The TITAN USA CD32635 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-production drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from cobalt steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit handles tough materials including stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where standard HSS bits lose their edge. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and allows drilling without a center punch in most setups. At 1-7/8 inches overall length, the screw machine format provides extra rigidity in drill presses, CNC machines, and turret lathes where shorter reach reduces deflection and improves hole accuracy.
This bit is suited for metalworking trades including machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working with hard or abrasive materials. The wire gauge size 35 designation — 0.1100 decimal inch — is commonly used for tapping pilot holes, precision clearance holes, and close-tolerance work where specific decimal sizing matters. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard chucks and quick-change toolholding systems. Series 325 construction meets NAS 907 Type J specification, making it appropriate for aerospace-adjacent and industrial shop environments.
Designed as a screw machine length replacement drill bit for any standard drill press, CNC machining center, turret lathe, or hand drill chuck accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.1100-inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press and machine tool operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before changing bits. Secure the shank fully in the chuck to the recommended engagement depth to prevent slippage under load. Cobalt bits can be resharpened with appropriate grinding equipment — do not overheat the cutting edge during grinding as this can alter the cobalt alloy's temper.
