The TITAN USA CD32630 is a cobalt screw machine length drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling in hard and abrasive materials. Built to NAS 907 Type J specification, this bit features a 135-degree split point for fast self-centering entry with reduced walking on metal surfaces. The bright, uncoated cobalt construction handles heat buildup better than standard high-speed steel, making it well suited for stainless steel, cast iron, and other tough alloys. At 1-15/16 inches overall length, the stub-length body provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in short-reach drilling applications. It is sold as a single bit with a minimum order of one piece.
This bit is used in metal fabrication shops, HVAC ductwork fabrication, plumbing rough-in work, and general industrial machining where short, stiff drill geometry is required. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks on hand drills, drill presses, and CNC drilling centers. The 15/16-inch spiral flute length provides adequate chip evacuation for the stub-length design. Heavy-duty grade cobalt construction makes it appropriate for repeated use in production drilling environments where standard bits wear prematurely.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement screw machine length drill bit for use in any standard three-jaw drill chuck or collet accepting a straight cylindrical shank within the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch decimal inch size range.
Installation of this drill bit is performed by a machinist, metalworker, or trade professional using a drill press, hand drill, or CNC machine equipped with a compatible chuck. Secure the straight cylindrical shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits. Always wear appropriate eye protection when drilling metal. Inspect the cutting edges before use and replace the bit if chipping or heat discoloration is observed on the flute or point.
